Lives in Fairbanks. Deborah was raised in Switzerland and has called Alaska home for almost 30 years. She works with the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation and has a background in wildlife biology, including studying geese and other northern species. She enjoys spending time outdoors—hiking, camping, gardening—and has a deep appreciation for animals and the natural world. Alongside her love of nature, she has a strong connection to music and the arts. She played the piano for many years while still in Switzerland and briefly studied it at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She has sung with both the Fairbanks Symphony Chorus and the Fairbanks Peace Choir. She is currently involved in a small interfaith choral group and plays with Serevende, a Zimbabwean marimba band in Fairbanks.
